Catalyzed Hydrogen-Air Combustion at Ambient Temperatures.

Abstract

An analysis of the mechanism involved in homogeneous and catalyzed heterogeneous hydrogen-air combustion is discussed. The parameters and materials which allow and/or promote ambient temperature combustion are identified. A brief discussion of mass and energy transport at a heated surface (catalytic and noncatalytic) is presented. Ambient temperature combustion of a hydrogen-air mixture can occur if an active noble metal catalyst is present. (Author)
