Broadband Combinable Module for UHF Amplification.

Abstract

Utilizing broadband stripline techniques, two TA7994 driver amplifiers were designed and constructed. The first amplifier, designed on teflon dielectric, provided 10 db plug or minus 0.9 dB power gain with 43 to 55 percent collector efficiency and a maximum input VSWR of 3.5:1 at 28 volts V sub and 1 watt input power from 620 to 960 megahertz. For a reduction in size, the second driver amplifier was produced on two 1 inch by 1 inch alumina dielectric substrates. The alumina amplifier produced 8.81 plus or minus 0.8 dB power gain and 35 to 51 percent collector efficiency at 28 volts V sub CC and 1 watt of input power. (Author)
