Dynamic Properties of Superalloys at Elevated Temperatures.

Abstract

The dynamic response properties of Cr-Mo-V, Pyromet X-15, 22-4-9, CG-27, and A286 alloys at temperatures from 72 through 1500F were dete rmined. Both standard Charpy and fatigue precracked specimens were used. The analyses included: (1) characterization of the types of fracture from the appearance of the load-deflection curves, (2) examinations of the appearance of the fracture surfaces, (3) measurement of thr various load, deflection, and energy parameters from the load-deflection record, and (4) evaluation of the various calculated energy, strength, and toughness parameters.
