Bases of Mathematical Methods in the Theory of Metalworking under Pressure,

Abstract

The book presents the bases of elastic and plastic theory, and gives solutions for several problems in this field, as applied to the theory of metalworking under pressure. The bases of two mathematical methods are considered: the method of characteristics, and direct methods of calculus of variations. Most of the problem solutions in the text are obtained by approximate mathematical methods. Some of the problems which are of great scientific and practical interest, but do not readily lend themselves to analytical solutions, are only formulated.
