Nonlinear Deformation of Aerial Film (O Nelineinom Uchete Deformatsii Aeroplenki),

Abstract

Affine and nonlinear means were used to estimate deformation of Type-15 aerial film, using deformation coefficients calculated on distances between corresponding point coordinate markers, to determine the feasibility of coverting to nonlinear means. The experiments showed: Nonlinear means of image distortion estimation decreased remaining point coordinate errors 1.5 times below affine means; Nonlinear estimate decreased magnitude and asymmetry of distortions; Increasing the power of the polynomials used decreased the number and magnitude of maximum coordinate errors for all film samples. Decreasing image distortion increases accuracy of determining point coordinates during construction of three-dimensional photo-triangulation networks. (Author)
