Abstract
A review of the literature on investigations of echo pulses from elastic objects in water, published mainly during the last ten years, is given in this survey. The survey contains four parts: (1) The classical theory of scattering; (2) Circumferential and creeping wave theory; (3) Related problems; and (4) Conclusions. (Author)
