Internal Teletype Assignment Command,

Abstract

The current ASSIGN command, when issued in monitor mode, assigns an I/O device to a user's job for the duration of the job or unitl a DEASSIGN command is given. One of the devices which may be assigned is a terminal, not necessarily the user's own. Since, for CCBS applications, it would be advantageous to be able to assign terminals internally (i.e., under program control), a new CALL function, TTYASG, has been added to the monitor. This relieves the user of having to assign all of the required terminals prior to executing a specific program. (Author)
