The Use of Plastics in Tractor Machine Building,

Abstract

Description of parts for which plastics by their physical, chemical and mechanical properties are suitable, as well as methods for selecting and testing plastics to determine the effects of various types of stresses, surrounding conditions and chemical substances on them are presented. The text deals primarily with the use of plastics in fuel lines, non-stressed small parts, friction and anti-friction components and large body parts and panels. Attention is paid to design elements which should be taken into account when considering plastics for use in tractors. The appendix lists several types of plastics, their preparation, methods of treatment and components for which they are suitable. (Author, modified-PL)
