Low Mach Number Wind-Tunnel Study of an Advanced Manned Interceptor

Abstract

The project involved the testing of a model of a projected advanced manned interceptor in the wind tunnel. The model was a blended-body shape designed for Mach 4 cruising flight. The test program was conducted at Mach 0. 19. Basic performance parameters were recorded on IBM cards and the reduced data supplied the parameters to determine basic lift, drag, and pitching moment characteristics of the model as well as thirteen of the static stability derivatives.
