Monitoring the Shipping Environment of the GCA/MRAPCON System.

Abstract

The report provides the shock and vibration data collected in monitoring the shipping and handling conditions experienced in air transporting a GCA/MRAPCON vanized electronic system from SMAMA to Rhein-Main, Germany. Recorded data obtained from the shipment continues to indicate, as noted in a previous report, that the major damage potential in terms of shock occurs during loading and unloading operations with insignificant shock inputs occurring during transit. Based on the results of the test data and observed handling during loading and unloading, it is concluded that airlift is a suitable mode of transporting the vanized electronic systems. (Author)
