The Derivation and Potential of New Filter Equations for Numerical Weather Prediction

Abstract

The research presents two initialization methods in the form of optimal filter equations suitable for adiabatic and diabatic numerical weather prediction and an optimal system of equations for numerical weather prediction involving four prognostic equations and one diagnostic equation.
