Mercury Cadmium Telluride 10.6-Micron Photodiode.

Abstract

Improvements were made in the junction technology required for sensitive, high speed mercury cadmium telluride (Hg,Cd)Te, photodiode detectors that operate at 77K. Effort was directed toward the investigation of surface etches, initiation of a planar junction technology, bulk material study, and detailed characterization of fabricated devices. The results of these investigations have been important contributions to the development of (Hg,Cd)Te photodiode detectors, optimized for 10.6-micron radiation. (Author)
