Aerodynamic Studies of Wing Body Configurations with Moderate Aspect Ratio.

Abstract

The main objectives of the research were to carry out the theoretical analysis of the flow field near a wing body configuration, to develop the far field solutions and to study their interference effects on another airplane. Analyses have been carried out and definite results are obtained in the following topics: (1) the motion and decay of vortex lines, (2) the connection of near field data to far field solution, (3) turbulent flow and boundary layer separation, and (4) the aerodynamic effects on an airplane by an incident shock.
