Tests and Evaluation of Various Types of Oxygen Breathing Equipment for Use in the Recompression Chamber.

Abstract

The suction flow characteristics of four experimental Eclipse-Pioneer Oxygen Regulators were evaluated. The regulators tested were designed for the administration of oxygen or helium oxygen mixtures to divers receiving decompression or treatment in a recompression chamber at various pressures. The efficiency and suitability of the Eclipse-Pioneer Oxygen Regulators were compared with that of other oxygen breathing equipment currently used in recompression chambers. The results indicate that the Eclipse-Pioneer Oxygen Regulators are superior to the others that have been tested. (Author)
