Runway Distribution Study (Selected Countries).

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to establish the distribution of main operating bases (MOB) and forward operating bases (FOB) within 44 selected countries. Each country was divided into cells of equal area and the distributions of the runways are with respect to the midpoints of the cells. The report graphically presents the airfield distributions generated by this study. The results are to be used in conjunction with an airlift study to determine the effectiveness of STOL and VTOL aircraft. (Author)
