Experimental Studies of Radiation-Driven Wave Propagation in a Radiating Gas.

Abstract

The aim of the work was to conduct basic experimental studies of the interaction of radiative transfer and gas motion by making measurements of radiatively driven acoustic waves in a gas in a closed container. Very briefly summarized are experiments in carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide under conditions both of vibrational equilibrium and vibrational nonequilibrium. (Author)
