Abstract

The Seventh Symposium on Explosives and Pyrotechnics was held at The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, Pa. on September 8 and 9, 1971. The papers are divided into four sections. Section 1 is concerned with theoretical and performance characteristics and is basic in nature. Section 2 is concerned with evaluation and testing techniques. Section 3 proceeds to the next logical step of discussing new developments in the field and includes both new materials, improvement of old materials, new applications and new types of ignition systems. Finally, Section IV discusses production techniques and includes both use of explosive materials and components.
