Deformation Processes in Metals and Alloys,

Abstract

The collection contains several investigations on the plastic deformation of metals which have theoretical and technological significance. The overall scientific results of I. M. Pavlov's research of recent times are reflected in his articles on the dialectic method, the physical essence of mechanical and mathematical concepts, and a new understanding of the processes of plastic deformation in vacuum. This collection also examines the influences of chemical composition and deformation conditions (temperature, rate, and degree of deformation) on the mechanical properties of several metals and alloys, questions of method concerned with the distribution of stress in billets of different configuration during compression in flat and profiled blocks, and problems of plastic deformation of tungsten, molybdenum, and alloys on a nickel base.
