The Physics of Optically Pumped Vapors and Advanced Optically Pumped Electronics Devices.

Abstract

Briefly discussed are research results arising from extensive measurements of lifetimes, hyperfine structures, gyromagnetic ratios and electric polarizabilities for selected excited states of atoms and molecule. Many of these parameters are important for the design of lasers, masers, magnetometers and other devices. A firm theoretical and experimental understanding of parametric interactions between light and microwaves in optically pumped vapors has been attained. A list of publications is given. (Author)
