System Documentation for Secondary Stock Point Inventory Model,

Abstract

An inventory system, proposed by LMI (Logistics Management Institute) and modified by the Navy, was service tested at NAS Brunswick, Maine. The system provides the stock point with the capability to determine reorder points and order quantities. The report contains a discussion of the several LMI concepts that were service tested for the first time at a secondary naval air station with limited computer capability, a description of each computer program developed by FMSO for the service test of the inventory system; and a comparison which shows the differences between the LMI inventory system service tested at NAS Brunswick and the Navy's VOSL (Variable Operating and Safety Level) program used at non-UADPS (Uniform Automatic Data Processing System) stock points.
