A Digital Data Collecting Equipment,

Abstract

It is shown that the benefits of computerized data processing can only be realized if the measurements themselves are already made in a form suitable for introducing the data immediately into the computer, without the necessity of preparing manually the punched tapes. Accordingly, the section for instrument construction of this institute developed a digital data collecting equipment, which is transmitting the measured data by teletype and punches it on a tape. By using a block diagram the functioning of the equipment as well as the characteristics of the main units (measurement transducer, commutator of measuring points, digital voltmeter, coding equipment, day indicator and program) are described.
