Method for Measuring the Specific Force of Plastic Friction in Longitudinal Pressing of Metals and Alloys,

Abstract

A microfiche of the abstract contains graphic information. Specific force of plastic friction between material and walls during the pressing of metals and alloys can be measured by moving the housing of the punch forward in the direction of the material flow at a velocity which exceeds that of the punch. If the force necessary for this is measured and divided by the cross section of the housing, the specific force of plastic friction is obtained. (Author)
