Modern Prodcution Techniques of Titanium Alloy Ingots,

Abstract

Vacuum electric arc furnaces are an involved complex of units, each unit of which must ensure not only high technical and economical indices but must also satisfy stringent safety technique requirements. The development of the technology of melting of ingots is connected with the perfection of the design of vacuum electric arc furnaces and their individual elements. The report discusses the arrangement of the main components of the electric arc furnace, the vacuum systems, the power sources, the technological schemes of melting and the technical and economical indices of production of titanium ingots.
