Rubber Research: The Synthesis of Unsaturated Fluorocarbons

Abstract

The report describes research on the preparation and study of nitroso and dinitroso fluorine aliphatic compounds using NO, NOCl, and N2O4 over FeCl3. Other types of catalysts were screened. The reactions and syntheses studied involved CF2=CFCl, CF2Cl-CFClNO, CF2=CCl2, CF3CF=CF2, CF2=CF2, and (CF3CF2CF2CO)2O. Bromofluoro ketones and alcohols were synthesized as imine precursors.
