Solid State Logic System for Selecting and Sequentially Firing Different Types of Ammunition.

Abstract

A system that is able to identify and select stored rounds is developed. The device consists of two memory banks and associated control logic. One memory is for stored round information and the other is for desired information. The weapon is a multi-chambered cylinder that is rotated on command by a round selecting mechanism. As each round is fired, the chamber would automatically revolve to the next selected firing position. Round selection may be cancelled and reprogrammed in flight. (Author)
