Metallographic Study of the Substructure of Ruthenium Single Crystals,

Abstract

Rhenium, osmium, and iridium single crystals were obtained by zone melting. Polishing and etching methods of ruthenium single crystals are described. Under analogous experimental conditions of crystal growth, ruthenium single crystals can have a different structure, which depends on crystallographic orientation. (Author)
