The existing methods of current information at the research and designing establishments were surveyed; a comparative analysis was made of the proportions of the main groups of sources, exhaustivity of selection, quality and times of delivery of contracted information service and the sci-tech information department of the leasing research institute of the industry. The findings suggest a considerable loss of topical information at the discipline-oriented service (73.4 percent) as compared with the loss at the research institute (8.4 percent).
