Three-Color Plasma-Panel Display Device.

Abstract

The objectives of the program are to design, fabricate, and evaluate a plasma-panel display device having three-color capability and to investigate and develop a technique for operating such a device with at least three levels of intensity. A 33 line-per-inch 3-color panel was operated dynamically over the full 128 x 128 lines. An attempt was made to operate a 60 line-per-inch 3-color panel dynamically. A method of heat-treating photomasters of the phosphor-pattern to reduce dimensional differences between the masters and the electrodes has been evaluated. Depositing phosphors by spray-coating was evaluated and compared to the flow-coating and hand-dusting techniques. (Author)
