Dimensional Stability of Poly(DL-lactic acid) Monofilament.

Abstract

In an effort to stabilize a poly(DL-lactic acid) monofilament suture, a number of post-treatments were considered. These included wet and dry heat, pre-stretching and pre-loading, and gamma radiation. None of the methods tried was successful in imparting dimensional stability to the suture material. (Author)
