Association and Viscosity of Some Amines,

Abstract

Viscosity values were measured at 30-90C for the following amines: pyrrole, indole, pyrrolidine, aniline, piperidine, cyclohexylamine, and eta-hexylamine. The p was measured pycnometrically and eta by Ostwald's capillary voscometer. The temperature dependence of p and eta of amines is described with given correlations. Values of alpha, A, B, and a given value (activation energy of viscous flow) are tabulated. Comparison of given values (latent heat of vaporization at boiling point) concluded that various type cyclic amines are subject to noticeable self-association in the liquid state. (Author)
