Structure and Phase Changes in Ferritic Steel during Heat Treatment,

Abstract

On the basis of works conducted at the Central Scientific Research Institute of Ferrous Metallurgy it was established that forged steel EP-503 subjected to tempering for one hour at 725-750 degrees C, possesses high heat resisting properties. Treating the steel according to this mode provides the necessary degree of solid solution decomposition and dispersity of intermetallic phase particles. The latter does not undergo substantial changes during further use. (Author)
