Inorganic Halogen Oxidizer Research.

Abstract

A summary of the authors' research on inorganic halogen oxidizers is presented. Also given are full discussions on the following: The difluoroperchloryl cation, ClO2F2(+); Chlorine Trifluoride dioxide, ClF3O2; The hexafluorochlorine (VII) cation, ClF6(+); On the reactions of chlorine fluorides with hydroxyl compounds; Iodine trisperchlorate and cesium tetraperchlorato iodate (III); On alkali metal fluoride - IF5 adducts; The tetrafluoroidate (III) anion, IF4(-); A fluorine-19 nmr study of chlorine fluoride cations; Chlorine trifluoride oxide, vibrational spectrum, force constants, and thermodynamic properties; The tetrafluorooxychlorate (V) anion, ClF4O(-), vibrational spectra and force constants.
