Tractor-Trailer Combinations,

Abstract

Because the creation of a network of highways in the Far East, Siberia and Kazakhstan is a matter of many years work and very expensive, the use of tractor-trailer combinations will be considered for transporting coal, iron ore, diamonds and timber from these regions. The simplest method is to attach trailers to a cross country tractor; however, there is the problem of slippage occurring if the weight of the load is greater than that of the tractor. (Author)
