Relationship between Defect Structure and Electrical Properties of Selected Oxides.

Abstract

The investigation centered on the formation and interaction of point defects in potentially important ceramic materials, the role these defects play in determining the transport rates of charge and mass in these materials, and the transport mechanisms themselves. The specific properties studied were electrical conductivity, thermoelectric power and weight change for several of the transition metal oxides. Major accomplishments are summarized and publications generated under this effort are referenced. (Author)
