Development of Dispersion-Hardened Magnesium Alloys.

Abstract

The melting and casting of magnesium in which selective metallic oxides were mixed during the molten state for the production of dispersion-hardened magnesium alloys did not produce satisfactory results. Magnesium, because of insufficient wettability, rejected the stable oxides. Further evaluation of the melting and casting technique should be explored because of the economical and metallurgical advantages. (Author)
