Inventory System for Stock Management at Secondary Navy Stock Points.

Abstract

The task is an evaluation of an inventory system tested by the Navy at Naval Air Station, Brunswick, Maine. Design, analysis, programming, and maintenance of the test system were done by the Fleet Material Support Office (FMSO). The system includes a number of the features proposed under a previous LMI Task 70-14, 'Inventory Management System for Secondary Stock Points.' The system is adaptable to the automatic data processing equipment available at small secondary naval stock points. The test at Brunswick, Maine, proved the system to be less time consuming for the local station to manage. It also provided improved performance over the system previously used. (Author)
