Abstract

A brief summary of recent literature on the nature of atmospheric releases of radioactive particulates by the nuclear industry is presented. The report first reviews the nature of natural radioactivity in the atmosphere and then discusses the occurance of uranium and plutonium in air. The various fission and activation isotopes and nuclear industry related isotopes present in the environment are finally discussed.
