Natural Language Data Base.

Abstract

The report follows DDC's development of a Natural Language Data Base (NLDB) from its inception to the present. The project is one of three underway at DDC that deal with natural language processing. The NLDB will serve as an interface between the output of the Machine-Aided Indexing (MAI) project and the computer files. It will serve a similar function in relationship to the Machine-Aided Retrieval project. The report emphasizes the creation of an initial model of the NLDB from data generated by the MAI project.
