Abstract

The document presents the concepts and an overall system design which is capable of satisfying specific goals and objectives presently established for the system of the late 1970s and the 1980s. It describes the proposed new features, equipment, and automation now being programmed for development and evaluation. The emphasis is on the bases for the proposed design and the operational implications of the design for both the aircraft operators and pilots and for the air traffic controllers and flight services specialists.
