Wave Propagation in Elastoplastic Media (Grounds) and Their Interaction with Structural Elements,

Abstract

The author surveys some Soviet papers on propagation of waves in elastoplastic media. Particular attention is given to experimental and theoretical studies of waves in various types of soil, their reflection and refraction at the boundary of layers with various properties, and their interaction with the elements of structures. Papers are considered which are based on various soil models taking account of the elastoplastic properties of soils. Works are mentioned which investigate wave processes in soils as viscous media.
