Production of Talc-Based Heatproof Ceramic Ware,

Abstract

The question of producing houshold ceramic ware from stoneware has already been examined. The present work is a continuation of the above, in examining talc-base bodies. The addition of talc gives fundamentally different properties to ceramic bodies like porcelain, stoneware and pottery. One of the basic features from the addition of talc is the possibility of obtaining bodies with a significantly lower thermal expansion factor (TEF). This can be reduced to almost that of quartz glass, and this reflects favorably on the thermal stability to the articles. (Author)
