Observations of Large Scale Ionospheric Irregularities Using a Long Baseline Interferometer.

Abstract

A 35 mile long baseline radio interferometer at 136MHz was implemented and placed in operation August 1971 for the detection and observation of large scale ionospheric irregularities. A multistation microwave relay link was established between the Foss Farm field site of the Antenna systems Laboratory, University of New Hampshire, Durham, and the Sagamore Hill site of the Air Force Cambridge Research Laboratories. The system was operated and data obtained from 15 August 1971 to 15 March 1972. (Author)
