Analysis of Wheel Performances (at Zero Slip Rate) in Cereclay.

Abstract

Two series of tests were conducted in an attempt to validate the wheel performance prediction equations developed by Ehrlich and Sela. The first series of tests were conducted to determine the soil strength parameters of the particular soil being used. Here, nine plates were sunk repeatedly into the soil while their depth and load were recorded. From this data and Ehrlich and Sela's general soil pressure function, the soil parameters were determined. These parameters used in the wheel performance prediction equations resulted in curves of predicted wheel performance for this particular soil. (Author)
