Coastal Geology Bibliography of New England: A Punch Card System.

Abstract

The bibliography is a cross-referenced index of coastal geologic studies of the New England coastal region. A marginal punch card bibliographic system devised for this project is discussed, and operational advantages for such a system for coastal reference studies of this type are outlined. Similar coastal geologic bibliographies both regional and topical in nature, are also reviewed. 750 references for the New England States are cross-indexed as to location and the following coastal geologic subjects: beaches, marine biology, changes of sea level, coasts, coastal engineering geology, offshore coastal geology, ecology, eolian sands, geology of coastal areas, sedimentation and waves, currents and tides.
