Aeronautical Exploratory Research on Advanced Jet Flap Supercritical Airfoils.

Abstract

The goal of the study is to seek a supercritical profile shape which has improved transonic performance in the presence of the jet flap effect. Based upon existing experience four profiles have been evolved. The present report describes the results for two of these airfoils, one having a Coanda jet flap configuration. In the tests pressure distributions, schlieren observations, and wake surveys were obtained. The results are reported. (Author)
