Tactical Data Converter.

Abstract

The report documents the design decisions, and trade-off analysis utilized during the design, fabrication and test of the Tactical Digital to Video Converter. The converter operates in the 1000 TV line raster mode to present computer generated alphanumeric, symbolic and line drawn data. It contains internal hardware character and vector generators, as well as a general purpose computer interface. The unit was designed and tested for shock, vibration and temperature encountered in tactical and airborne environments. Strong emphasis was placed upon use of MSI circuits and available qualified memory systems. A reliability, maintainability and EMI analysis was performed to insure proper operation within an operational system. (Author)
