Synchronization Properties of Binary, Linear, Maximal Length Sequences.

Abstract

The report considers the use of binary, linear, maximal length sequences and their subsequences for synchronization purposes. The various correlation terms are defined and illustrated. Techniques for simplifying the correlation calculations are set forth. Based upon these results, methods for selecting sequences with good properties are presented. In so doing an insight into what causes some sequences to have poor properties is also given. (Author)
