Effect of Testing Conditions on Determination of Friction Coefficient,

Abstract

The authors discuss the results of large scale experimental research work into the friction properties of various pairs of materials ranging from bearing materials to materials for brake lining. The comparison of several methods used at present for such tests confirms the importance of testing conditions which may affect the reliability of results.
