An Adiabatic Calorimeter for Contact Calibration of Heat Flux Sensors,

Abstract

The characteristics of calibrating heat flux sensors by radiation and contact methods are examined. Described are the design and theory of a quick-response adiabatic calorimeter with automatic compensation for heat losses, developed in the Institute of Technical Heat Physics of the AS USSR. As the zero-indicator, monitoring the presence of heat leaks in the calorimeter, a high-discrimination thermoelectric battery with a given number of microelements is used, which prevents heat losses of the calorimeter from exceeding 0.1-0.2 percent. The calorimeter was designed for contact calibration of heat flux sensors. (Author)
