Ejector Section of a Transonic Wind Tunnel,

Abstract

The report describes an ejector section of a transonic aerodynamic tunnel in whose mixing chamber rigid partitions with sharp front edge (or thinwalled cylinders in case of a cylindrical working part) are mounted parallel to the tunnel working part axis. They form several consecutive flow channels and mixing stages of the high pressure and low pressure gas. The partitions are connected with the mixing chamber walls by uprights of low aerodynamic resistance. The length of each partition is 3-5 times the height of the mixing chamber in the respective gas ejector stage. The ejector part of the aerodynamic tunnel increases the full pressure restoration coefficient. (Author)
